Since 2004, Ryan and Tyler have been collaborating on projects; initially as graduate students, and later as professional engineers with previous employers. You’ve likely seen us leading training sessions, sharing ideas at conferences, working on projects, and having fun! We are passionate about active, sustainable transportation, so in 2023, Ryan (Martinson) and Tyler (Golly) created Martinson Golly Ltd. (see what we did there?). Through our work, we’ve seen how thoughtful design and people-centred planning can transform communities.

Our ideas are rooted in research and best practices, and are constantly evolving due to our perpetual curiosity, keenness to learn, and collaboration with international experts. Sometimes these ideas come to life in cartoons or Lego. Other times it’s design concepts, guidelines, strategies, action plans, or journal articles. But really, our business is empowerment. We help communities take steps to become more sustainable, livable, and inclusive.
